Birgit Klohs
Birgit Klohs is a leading economic development strategist with over 45 years of experience driving growth in west Michigan. As President & CEO of The Right Place, Inc. (1987 – 2021), she spearheaded the creation of 45,000+ jobs and $5 billion+ in investments. A renowned authority in international business, she fostered global connections, resulting in significant foreign direct investment. Recognizing the need for equitable access to capital, Birgit co-founded the New Community Transformation Fund, investing in entrepreneurs of color. A dedicated community leader, she serves on numerous boards, prioritizing both economic prosperity and quality of life. A graduate of Western Michigan University and a lifelong learner, Birgit holds an honorary doctorate from Davenport University. She continues to leverage her expertise to benefit west Michigan.
